Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racial separatism is the belief, most of the time based on racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from one another.
Racism has existed throughout human history. it may be defined as the hatred of one person by another — or the belief that another person is less than human — because of skin color, language, customs, place of birth or any factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. Racism has influenced wars, slavery, the formation of nations, and legal codes.
Modern variants of racism are often based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. These views can take the form of social actions, practices or beliefs, or political systems in which different races are ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities.
In terms of political systems (e.g., apartheid) that support the expression of prejudice or aversion in discriminatory practices or laws, racist ideology may include associated social aspects such as nativism, xenophobia, otherness, segregation, hierarchical ranking, and supremacism.

Islam is known by its followers as a faith for all people and for all times. Muslims come from all continents and backgrounds, encompassing nearly one-fourth of the world’s population which makes Islam the world’s second largest religion after Christianity. According to Islamic teachings, there should be no room for arrogance and racism in the heart of a Muslim. Allah (God) tells Muslims in the Quran (The Muslim holy book) that the diversity of life, and the various languages and colors of human beings, is a sign of His majesty, and a lesson for them to learn about humility, equality, and the appreciation of differences.
Islam does not recognize superiority of one person to another based on factors like race, ethnicity and sex. In Islam, piety is the sole criteria for appraising the value and worth of individuals. The mere fact that people from different race and ethnicity have been embracing Islam is a sign that Islam is inherently anti-racist.
