Unfortunately, sexual harassment and more broadly, sexual misconduct, is a common issue in workplaces, public spaces, schools and even at home. There have been many efforts to address the issue and the #MeToo movement is maybe the latest one. Many laws and regulations exist in different countries throughout the world to prevent such behaviors and protect the victims/survivors of them, but most of them only cover the aftermath of incidents and are not successful at preventing them. However, in Islam and its pillars, prevention is of focal importance in confronting such issues.
